Saccharomyces boulardii is not affectd by antibiotics, is temperature-tolerant and resistant to acid. This makes it very resilient and means that it doesn't need to be refrigerated.
This beneficial microorganism is a non-colonising yeast which acts like a probiotic to support a healthy balance of microflora in the digestive environment.
Saccharomyces boulardii is involved in the healthy absorption of D-glucose and sodium by the intestinal walls, supporting normal water uptake and electrolytes. This may be helpful with occassional diarrhea. Additionally this friendly microrganism enhances short chain fatty acids in the stool which feed the colon wall cells.
