ProBiota Bifido is made with four strains of Bifidobacterium which research has shown to support a healthy intestinal environment. These Bifidobacteria are primarily found in the mucosal lining of the bottom end of the small intestine, the colon and the genitourinary tract.
These friendly bacteria help to balance the digestive tract by producing lactic and acetic acids that inhibit the growth of unwanted microorganisms as well as by competing with them for space and nutrients. Beneficial bacteria also produce short-chain fatty acids which nourish the cells of the colon.
As this product contains no species of Lactobacillus, it is perfect for those who are concerned about the potential histamine-producing actions of some of the Lactobacillus strains.

Storage:
Refrigerate and keep tightly closed to maintain product potency. The probiotics in our ProBiota products are freeze-dried to increase shelf life. These products will maintain or exceed label potency through the expiration date printed on each bottle if kept refrigerated. If kept at average room temperature, ProBiota products will remain potent for 4 - 6 months. At higher temperatures (30 C or 86 F), they will maintain potency for 1 - 2 months. We recommend that this product is stored tightly sealed in the refrigerator after opening for optimal potency.
During Transit:
We're now using Tempshield bubble foil wrap which consists of 3 layers to trap heat out and provide excellent thermal value. The probiotics are stored in the refrigerator at our premises so are chilled already once they're packed with the bubble foil. Our research has led us to this as a more effective option for keeping the products cold than the ice packs we previously used.
