Lifestream Digestive Enzymes+ (previously Advanced Digestive Enzymes) provides a broad range of enzymes to aid the digestion of carbohydrates, protein, and fat.
- Vegetarian enzymes - plant and microbial sources.
- Effective in a wider range of pH than animal-sourced enzymes.
While raw fruit and vegetables are rich in natural enzymes, these enzymes get destroyed when the produce is cooked. So taking supplemental digestive enzymes can help to replace those lots during cooking and support the enzymes produced by your own body.
Lifestream Advanced Digestive Enzymes are manufactured to the highest quality (to GMP and TGA standards). They contain high potency enzymes and the unit of activity of the main enzymes are listed on the bottle, unlike other brands that do not disclose individual enzyme strengths.
The enzymes in this formula are also vegetarian as they are sourced from microbial and plant sources rather than from animal sources.
Lifestream Digestive Enzymes+ contains:
- Protease 4.5 - a blend of protein-digesting enzymes that act synergistically with your bodies' own enzymes to break down protein foods in the stomach and intestines.
- Bromelain & Papain - two other important and powerful protein-digesting enzymes.
- Amylase, Cellulase & Tilactase - carbohydrate-digesting enzymes to aid in the digestion of starches, plant fibre, and lactose in milk.
- Lipase - fat-digesting enzyme to break down the oils and fats in your diet.
- Healthy digestion
- Proper fat digestion is key for the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, K
- Optimal nutrient absorption from food.

Can enzymes be taken with other prescription medications?
Digestive enzymes function by breaking down specific chemical bonds in foods. In most cases digestive enzymes can therefore safely be taken with medications, however it is best to separate the medications and the enzyme supplement.
Caution:
If you are on prescription blood thinning medication, consult with your healthcare practitioner before beginning an enzyme regimen. Protein digesting enzymes can irritate existing ulcers and should be avoided by those with stomach or intestinal ulcers. As a general precaution, if you are pregnant or nursing, consult with a healthcare practitioner before use. Always read the label and use only as directed. If symptoms persist see your healthcare practitioner.
Are digestive enzyme supplements safe for children to take?
Lifestream Advanced Digestive Enzyme capsules have been formulated for adult use. If children have digestive problems or disorders, it is best that they consult privately with a health practitioner before using digestive enzyme supplements.
