Folate is one of the B complex vitamins and is important for optimal health. Vitamins cannot be made by the body so must be obtained through the diet or nutritional supplementation. However most dietary supplements and fortified foods contain synthetic folic acid. Some people have a limited ability to convert folic acid into its active, usable form.
Jarrow Formulas solves this problem by using 4th generation folate technology which provides the active form of folate, known as methylfolate. Unlike folic acid, 5-MTHF can pass through the blood-brain barrier.
