Jarrow Formulas Bile Acid Factors provides a total of 1000mg bile acids containing a mixture of concentrated bile salts from a bovine source with 95% being in the conjugated form.
Bile acids, also known as bile salts, are required by the body for healthy digestion and absorption of fats. Inside the small intestines, bile salts are used to emulsify the ingested fats to allow for normal digestion and absorption of the dietary fats and any fat-soluble nutrients also present. This high potency formula provides bile acids mostly in their conjugated form (95%) which is similar to the form produced by the body. A lack of bile salts can cause loose stools and reduced absorption of dietary fats and fat-soluble vitamins.
