Which Side are You on?

There's Goodness in Fluoride

The Hidden Truths about Fluoride

1. It's not only teeth. Your teeth aren't the only ones affected by water fluoridation. Many studies have already documented that fluoride messes with your thyroid gland, pineal gland, brain (!), bones and sugar levels in your blood.
In a nutshell, fluoride deposits in other tissues and organs in your body. Below, are just some examples of the negative impact that fluoridation can have on your health:
-
- It also affects your immune system. Your ability to mount an immune response declines because you have difficulty forming antibodies.
- Increased incidence of joint pains and bone fractures. Fluoride also deposits in bone tissues. Excess fluoride can mess up the matrix of bones and joints thereby compromising their stability.
Your thyroid is another viable target. There is increased incidence of thyroid disease accompanied by a decline in thyroid gland function.
- If you're in the reproductive phase of your life, you might want to rethink drinking fluoridated water. It can decrease sperm count and lower your fertility rate.
Dementia is another major concern. This is global cognitive ability we're talking about. Imagine losing your ability to recognize the people you love. All because the water you religiously drank everyday contained this questionably additive.

3.American teenagers are showing signs of dental fluorosis. Dental fluorosis (a disturbance of the tooth enamel) is caused by prolonged ingestion of fluoride at the time teeth are just developing. This problem among teens may be attributed to multiple sources of fluoride exposure when they were rapidly growing up. Hey, there’s lots of other things that contain fluoride other than toothpastes and fluoridated water. Some medications, processed foods, processed beverages, and tea are a few examples of other sources of fluoride widely available and within the reach of children. What's even worse is, by the time your dentist has observed the presence of dental fluorosis, your other body organs may have experienced an excess already.
4. You don't need to swallow fluoride to benefit your teeth. Why? Ahem, you're teeth are located right there in your mouth. Experts have already accepted the fact that all you need to do is apply fluoride on your teeth topically. By brushing! It goes to say that you have a really huge responsibility when it comes to taking care of your teeth. Scientists and nutritionists aren't even sure if the fluoride you swallow may even reach your teeth.
5. There's nothing natural in the fluoride added to drinking water. The presence of naturally found fluoride in some areas is natural. That's the natural part. There's nothing natural in adding it to drinking water. The most common type of fluoride added is fluorosilicic acid. It's far from being natural. Do you know where it comes from? It comes from phosphoric acid chemical plants (phosphate fertilizer plants).
